Turn Your Swimming Pool Into a Water Game Zone

There is only so much splashing around and swimming your kids will want to do before becoming bored with your backyard swimming pool. If you want to make the most of your investment, and keep them entertained, try turning the ordinary pool into a wet game zone that they won’t want to leave!
If you have the space, you could even get some cool water slides and set them up near the pool to extend the fun. Get a miami party rentals company to come and install some inflatable slides near the pool for a fun summer’s day! Here are some more swimming pool games to try out.

Jaws

The rules are simple for this shark attack game – make it from one side of the pool to the other before being attacked by the shark. One person plays the “shark” while the rest of the kids take turns diving into the water and crossing to the other side as fast as possible before getting caught. The “kill” is only successful if the shark is able to get close enough to wrap their arms around the body. You can rotate turns as the shark or you can let the last man standing designate who plays the shark for the next round.

Under Water Scavenger Hunt

Throw various items into the pool and award the kid who is able to collect the most in an allocated amount of time. Make sure that the items you use are clean and smooth so that they don’t harm the water or pool lining, and big enough to not get caught in the filtration system.

Water Bottle Fun

There is a trick to successfully filling a bottle underneath the water that can be used as a premise for a swimming pool game. Give each child one bottle and challenge them to fill it completely and place it inside the holder of your Pool Buoy. The first one to complete the task wins. You could also use this as a part of a relay race if you have enough kids to join in. Make teams, giving each one an empty bottle and cap. They must swim across the pool, fill the bottle and then pass it to their teammate at the other end. They in turn jump in the water with the bottle and have to swim to the Pool Buoy and place the bottle inside upright before being declared the victor.

Marco Polo

This classic swimming pool game is a family favorite. One person is blind folded and stands or treads water inside of the pool while the other players jump in. Each time the “IT” person yells “Marco” the other players must respond “Polo”. The IT person will then need to try and catch the other players to tag them out. A variation of Marco Polo for older kids is to give the IT person a blow up pool ball which they try and hit their opponents with.

There are also pool nets, water horseshoes and even Frisbees that you can purchase to facilitate game play in your swimming pool. Further the fun for your kids by putting on your own suit and jumping in on the games.
